Most of you know that we have been doing a mystery block of the month for the past 6 months. If you missed this mystery quilt, the booklet will be published in May by Kansas City Star and we will have limited kits available at that time. To our Mystery Mavens, let me say thank you, thank you. We have shipped the last pattern and fabric installment. There is a clarification required on Month 5. It is posted in the usual spot. We do hope you have enjoyed making our Backyard Blooms quilt. We are starting another mystery in May. The details will be announced in April. We are taking reservations so email me a note if you are interested in a spot.

We have been working on the free quilt pattern for our new “Hip Holidays” Christmas line.  Here are a few of the prints from this line.

The instructions for the free pattern will be ready to post by the end of the month. The quilt is quick and easy but still interesting, I hope. If finishes at 57” x 70”…just the right size for a long winter’s nap! There is some paper piecing involved and we are starting a tutorial about this on our blog the same time the pattern is ready. We are really excited about this quilt and will have a limited number of kits available when the fabric arrives. We are taking kit reservations now.

We thank all those who sent recipes along for our soup recipe contest. We had so many good ones that we hated to pick just one! We have chosen Homemade Potato Soup submitted by Susan Davis of Aunt Susie’s House as the winner this time. It sounds like a great recipe. We are sending her five fat quarters of Simply Sweet! If you didn’t win this time, look for your name next time. Like I said…we hated to pick just one!

Spring is in the air here and I hope it will find you soon.

Until next time,
